Biographies:

Illinois State Senator Paul Faraci (D) 52nd District

  • District: Paul Faraci was appointed in January 2023 to represent the 52nd District which had been vacated by Senator Scott Bennett who died of cancer in December 2022. The district includes parts of Champaign County, including Champaign, Urbana, Savoy and Rantoul, and parts of Vermilion County, including Danville, Tilton and Westville.
  • Background and Education: Faraci is a native of Champaign, IL. Before serving as a State Senator, Faraci owned and operated a restaurant, worked as a senior account manager, focusing on economic development, for the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and then as a senior advisor to State Treasurer Michael Frerichs. He also served as the City of Champaign Township Assessor, Champaign City Council from 2011-2017 and Deputy Mayor City of Champaign 2015-2017. Faraci served on the board of Champaign County First, a united county wide effort to identify projects that will spur economic development and improve quality of life in Champaign County. Paul Faraci is a loving husband (wife Stephanie) and parent of one.
