Biography:

Illinois State Representative Curtis Tarver (D) 25th District

• District: Curtis Tarver has represented the 25th district since 2019, a district previously represented by Barbera Flynn Currie. His district includes all or parts of East Side, Hyde Park, Kenwood, South Chicago, South Shore and Woodlawn.
• Early life and Education: Curtis Tarver is a Chicago native who grew up on the South Side. After graduating from Marian Catholic High School in Chicago Heights, Tarver went on to earn his B.S. from Iowa State University and J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law. He served as former assistant to Mayor Richard M. Daley, in the Mayor’s Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, as Director of Public Affairs for the Independent Police Review Authority and as an Administrative Law Judge for the City of Chicago. Tarver is a former member Chicago Commission on Human Relations and currently a member of the DePaul USA Board of Trustees and Big Shoulders Fund Chairman’s Advisory Council. Curtis is a proud father with one daughter.
