Biographies:
IL State Senator Sue Rezin (R) Deputy Minority Leader
- District: Senator Rezin has represented the 38th Senate District in the Illinois State Senate since 2010. Her district includes Bureau, Putnam, LaSalle, Grundy, and Kendall counties in north central Illinois.
- Biography: Sue Rezin was born and raised in Geneseo, IL. She is a graduate of Augustana College, where she earned a degree in International Business and Political Science with a minor in Hispanic Studies. She is also a graduate of Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government’s Senior Executives in State and Local Government Program. Rezin was originally elected to the IL House in November 2010 but appointed to the IL State Senate in December following the resignation of Gary Dahl. In 2021, she was chosen as Deputy Minority Leader for the Illinois Senate Republican Caucus. On the national level, Leader Rezin serves on the Chair of the National Foundation for Women Legislators. She is also an active member of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), currently serving on the Task Force on Energy Supply. managed her family’s real estate business. Rezin and her husband, Keith, have four children. They reside in Morris, Illinois.

IL State Senator John Curran (R) Minority Leader
- District: John Curran has represented the 41st district since July 2017 after accepting an appointment to replace Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno who resigned July 1, 2017. His district includes all or parts of Lemont, Indian Head Park, LaGrange Western Springs, Homer Glen, Burr Ridge, Darien, Downers Grove, Lisle, Willowbrook, Woodridge, Naperville, and Bolingbrook.
- Biography: John Curran has a B.S. from the University of Illinois where he played varsity football for the Fighting Illini. He went on to earn a J.D. from Northern Illinois University College of Law. Prior to the General Assembly, Curran served as Vice Chair of the DuPage County Board. He also worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office. He currently practices law at a private law firm in Oak Brook. Curran sits on the Board of Directors for the Downers Grove Economic Development Corporation, which has a mission of helping retain, expand and attract new businesses to the Village of Downers Grove. Curran has served as the Minority leader in the Illinois Senate since January 11, 2023. Curran, his wife Sue, their four daughters and a niece live in Downers Grove.
