LEGISLATORS MAKE BID FOR HIGHER OFFICE

Turnover taking place in the Illinois General Assembly as legislators announce for higher office. State Reps who must give up their current seats to run for Comptroller include State Rep. Margaret Croke, an ally of the IVCA, and Rep. Stephanie Kifowit. State Rep. Nabeela Syed is running for a State Senate post, and State Rep. Hoan Huynh is running for Congress, as is State Senator Laura Fine, another IVCA ally running for Congress. These openings are attracting competitive fields of candidates which will bring new voices and faces to Springfield. Other State Senators, who are not up for re-election, are also testing the statewide and Congressional waters.
