SPEAKER SENTENCED
One of the most influential elected officials in Illinois history was sentenced to 7.5 years of prison time after his conviction by a federal jury on public corruption charges. Any list of powerful Illinoisans would include former House Speaker Michael J. Madigan, and his legal downfall is a turn of events which almost defies quantification:

GOVERNOR WILL RUN AGAIN
Tomorrow Illinois Governor JB Pritzker will announce he is a candidate for a third term as Governor of Illinois. Governor Pritzker has events planned in Chicago and Springfield and will make the case that Illinois has stabilized its budget situation while he has been a champion for civil rights and a bulwark against the administration of President Trump.
